On the first weekend of December we held our 5th Finders Keepers Markets at CarriageWorks in Sydney. Featuring over 75  designers and artists from all around Australia and a great line up of music from local independent musicians we had a spectacular 2 days!

There was thousands of people who came and visited, shopped, enjoyed the music, stayed for a drink and some food and kept shopping! It was non-stop from Friday evening through to Saturday afternoon and all the stallholders were exhausted but happy! The wonderful decor again was produced by Michelle McCosker and her team at Reef knot with beautiful flower topiaries trees made from fabric flowers, giant paper cranes and a stage lined with flowers and mini paper cranes. All handmade from recycled and sourced materials! What an amazing job they did!

If you fell in love with any of the items on the stage, we are re-selling the topiaries & paper cranes. Please contact us for details.

One of the highlight features was having the Paper Convention Collective involved! The team behind the Paper Convention built an amazing paper city installation, which you could also contribute too, and also had some wonderful paper workshops that were hosted by Yumi & Taka from Dear Plastic, and also had a feature workshop hosted by Ebony from Hello Sandwich live all the way from Japan! The paper workshops were a hit with everyone getting involved and learning new tricks with paper! The market was buzzing with people wearing paper hats & crowns and holding on to their very own paper creations. We are very excited to be a sponsor for the upcoming Paper Convention and loved being able to host a home for the Paper Conventions first public involvement. Well done Lisa & the Paper Convention team!

We also played host to ‘On The Wall’ a pop up exhibition by Leeloo in conjunction with us, featuring the work of 30 emerging artists from all around Australia where original and prints were available for sale. There was an amazing array of new talent with lots of red dots by the end of the event! Well done Renee & Angela for putting this together!

It was a beautiful & busy weekend once again and we’d like to mention a big thank you to our host CarriageWorks for their support and wonderful venue, our friends at Publissimo for their amazing ongoing publicity support, and all of our media supporters Frankie Magazine, Leeloo, 3things by Oxfam, Kluster, Australian Infront and product sponsors Made by White and Made590.

Another special thanks to Tarryn Morris for organising our wonderful line up of Music featured at the markets, Tarryn joins us as a new recruit!

Special thanks to our photographers that contributed their amazing photos and time to the Finders Keepers! Jillian Leiboff & Elize Strydom! For more images of the markets head here on our website, or all of them are listed in our facebook galleries here.

We’ll be back in 2011 – you can now head here for all the new dates!

It snowed in Brooklyn, NY yesterday. Nice to know that the weather is nice enough somewhere for people to be selling vintage paper dolls, new art and getting to listen to music, outside. It looks like a great place for inspiration and spending money!
