What a glorious weekend we had in sunny Brisbane! A huge and very heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make our Brisbane AW15 markets happen, and there are many of you!
- We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to our Finders Keepers crew and tremendous market helpers, we couldn’t do it without you!
- Thanks to The Old Museum and their crew for hosting our market in your beautiful venue.
- A big shout out to the team at Publissimo for working tirelessly to promote the market and landing us some fantastic coverage on The Project!
- A massive thanks to all of our extremely hardworking and talented stallholders. Without you, our markets wouldn’t be what they are! Your amazing products are the reason people come through those huge doors, and we appreciate all of the hard work it takes to prepare, and recover, from a market of this scale.
Whilst we know the majority of people had a relaxing and fun time at the markets, we recognise that those eager early birds on the Saturday morning had some problems with crowds. The Finders Keepers have hosted several popular markets at the Old Museum, however this was the first time we’ve seen such a massive turnout within the first few hours. As a result, we saw some crowding, particularly out on the verandah. The matter was solved very quickly by our friends at the Old Museum opening up the secondary thoroughfare through the internal hallway, and for the remainder of the weekend this alleviated those issues.
We are very sorry to anyone who experienced the issue. It’s our job to ensure that our stallholders have as many potential visitors to the market as possible, but of course we can never truly know how many people will be there, and Brisbane you have truly embraced these markets beyond anything we could have imagined!
We’d also like to reassure you all further, by advising that we’ve taken measures in co-operation with the venue management at the Old Museum to ensure that it won’t happen again. For example, we’ve initiated plans for our SS15 event in November, which include removal of the stalls on the verandah to the outside gardens, which will ensure better access for customers to the stalls, and improve crowd movement and visitor flow through the venue.

Thanks of course to all of our market visitors and shoppers for embracing small, local, creative businesses, by coming along and showing your support for our community, and making your purchases truly matter. The groundswell of support is truly overwhelming, and we thank you on behalf of all of our crew and stallholders alike.
Thank you to our photographers Bec Taylor and Dave Kan for capturing the magic as it happens. You can find albums part one and part two, filled with beautiful photos on our Facebook page.
