Describe the story behind Made By White?
Made By White is a small business created by two sisters who were sick of buying boring jewellery! We have always been crafty, with a mother that has mastered all the trends and also taught it to many (painting, folkart, patchwork, knitting, sewing… the list goes on).

We decided nearly 3 years ago now to create our own jewellery, this has just expanded to include a product range that includes something for everyone! We now have an extensive range of brooches, necklaces, earrings and vinyl wall stickers available online and in many boutique stores around Australia and across the world.

What items can we expect to see in the Made By White range?
The original Made by White range was jewellery made from Perspex and Sterling Silver. Our latest range also includes some wooden pieces and really detailed etched pieces. Now just about to be released are our new Sticky Apple Wall Stickers to bring some Made by White fun to your walls, doors, windows, car… anywhere really. They are removable so if you’re renting you can still have a fun house. Some designs include large owls, giant deer and huge skeletons!! All of these are online at www.madebywhite.com

Where do you find your inspiration?
From absolutely everywhere! We are inspired by anything vintage, nursery rhymes and fairytales, animals, nature and any other crazy things we think up.

What do you both do besides working on Made By White?
Lyndsay works as a web designer at www.whitepixels.com.au and Kelly works in Sydney’s best store www.made590.com.au

How did you make your first steps to being stocked internationally?
Our international stockists have contacted us directly, I think the key with any stockist is to make it as easy for them as possible, Paypal has really helped with international sales as anyone can accept it and everyone uses it, its a step up from the old international bank transfer – I think it has helped to have our jewellery in a few US and UK magazines as well.

What things are Made By White planning for the future?
If we had more time we would be planning world domination! But really – While we still love to design super cute jewellery (and there will be more soon) we have recently expanded to create our new Sticky Apple Wall Stickers (which will also be available at the Finders Keepers in May) and then who knows!! Prints, cards, stationery? You’ll have to wait and see.
