My Blog Workshop Giveaway! :: Melbourne

My Blog Workshop is happening this Saturday in Melbourne. We’re excited to let you know that in conjunction with the lovely Simone from My Blog Workshop, we are giving away a seat for one lucky Melbourne person! All you need to do is comment on this blog post, have a laptop ready to bring to the course, and be available to attend this Saturday 23rd June for your chance to win!

Photoshop and Illustrator for bloggers and beginners!

After this class, you will be able to create your own banners and buttons, combine text and imagery, manipulate photos, and upload them to your blog or website.
When – Saturday 23rd June 2012
Time – 9.30am to 5pm
Cost – $229
Location – Melbourne CBD location, TBA
Workshop includes – Morning tea, yummy lunch and class notes.
What to bring – Your own laptop with Photoshop and Illustrator installed. If you don’t own them yet, you can download the free 30 day trial. Please ensure they are installed before the workshop!

Simone Madigan, blogger, designer and dreamer behind States of Nature will be your teacher.
Simone has worked with Photoshop and Illustrator for a long time, designing everything from logos and websites to fabrics and homewares. She is also an experienced teacher, and has taught at design colleges in the areas of Graphic Design, Textile Design and Digital Illustration. Her work has been featured in magazines and newspapers including Frankie, Real Living, House and Garden, Inside Out, Good Weekend, The Age, and the Sydney Morning Herald.
Simone’s philosophy towards these workshops is simple. “Focus on learning the techniques that are relevant to your work as it stands right now. Leave all the rest until later. It is very easy to be intimidated by this complex software, but if you learn the basics you have so much power to improve your visual style and be a better designer.”
Simone has a Degree in Graphic Design (B.A.), a Diploma in Education in Design and Technology (Dip. Ed.) and a Masters in Printmaking (M.Phil).
