We are so thrilled and extremely honoured to announce that the Finders Keepers founders – Brooke Johnston and Sarah Thornton, are listed in The Sydney Morning Herald’s, the (sydney) magazine top 100 most influential people in Sydney!!!

Against such wonderful, innovative, inspirational people there we stand in the Design & Architecture section amongst other amazing categories such as Science & Technology, Business, Community & Charities and Life & Style.

A quote from the editor Kirsten Galliott “It’s also important to stop every once in a while and celebrate the positive attributes of our city, including the people who make such a difference to the way we live.”

We are just so blown away that we have made such a positive impact and change to the city of Sydney and we also hope we can continue to have this affect on the rest of Australia.

Thank you’s:

With this we have lots of amazing people to thank – this is so much more than a photo in the paper, we’re so proud of the year that was.

Firstly the (sydney) magazine editor Kirsten Galliot, art director Dean Hastie, writer Guy Allenby and our amazing photographer Damian Bennett. Thank you all so much for this opportunity and for working with us! To the panel that nominated us, specifically Steven Pozel and Object – we were so very surprised and also coming from an organisation that we have so much respect and admiration for, this means the world to us so thank you.

To two organisations that have made a significant impact on us and has helped us move from strength to strength. Firstly Publissimo – Laura, Anna and Vanessa who have been with us from the very start, have believed in us and gave us so much support. Thank you so much! You are amazing people.

To CarriageWorks – Tory, Jamie and Stephanie. Thank you for choosing us, we love CarriageWorks!! Thank you for all your support, and giving us access to the best venue in Sydney. You are all amazing people and we just love working with such an inspiring space.

On a personal note we have lots of people we want to thank. Our families – The Johnston’s, the Thornton’s and the Murray’s, thank you for all of your support and love – we love you all. Our amazingly talented web designer Luke Thornton, thank you for all your hardwork and for being a massive support to us!

Some Finders Keepers staff thank you’s: our assistant co-ordinator Lauren, our music co-ordinator Scott, our floor plan and ‘technical expert’ Natalie ,to all our friends and lovely volunteers who have helped us. Also to our new Brisbane team – our co-ordinator Alischa for lots of hardwork and patience and Liz from Mammoth Productions, we are so happy to have you working with us.

To all our sponsors – Frankie Magazine, Made590Made by White, LeelooIndie.com.au, Happenstance and TwoThousand. Thank you for all of your support!

Last but not least – to all the talented designers, artists, musicians and our followers that have supported us! THANK YOU ALL!

Truly well-deserved. Have been singing your praises long and loud ever since partaking in the inaugural Carriageworks event last Christmas. As a somewhat jaded market stall holder I will never forget the force of that opening night in that stunning venue, it was euphoric! No other market has come close to it .. you two are visionaries. Enjoy and long may you prosper!

    Dear Sarah & Brooke,

I have been following the progeress of the Finders/Keepers Market with great interest for the past few years – waiting/looking for an oportunity to suggest a collaboration with the State Library of NSW.

I am currently curating an exhibition about the history of shopping for the Library, which is due ot open in August 2011, and would very much like to discuss with you both the possibility of staging a Finders/Keepers Market event at the Library to co-incide with the show – which is scheduled to run until mid Novemeber 2011.

If this idea is of interest to you, it would be great to meet within the next month or so, to establish the feasability of such an initiative,

    With kind regards,
