Five Questions With Sweet Nola

Soap really does have superpowers and we’re loving these ‘almost’ edible & clean cut creations by new Finders Keepers seller Sweet Nola! Soap Maker Hayley, from South Australia Soap recently stopped by for 5 to introduce her business and inspiration behind her sweet selection of natural soaps!

Keep washing your hands and share the Sweet Nola secret with your friends! Be sure to visit Sweet Nola’s Finders Keepers Shop here too!

Who is behind Sweet Nola and how did you begin?

My name is Hayley and I am the owner and creator of Sweet Nola. I began making bar soaps as a hobby over four years ago after receiving some really cool beer soap from America. My hobby very quickly turned into a soap making addiction and soon after the idea for Sweet Nola was born.
With a love for natural products and passion for the environment I also wanted to provide natural and cruelty free products that are both luxurious and gentle on your skin, but also gentle on the environment.

After I shared my work on social media, things really started to take off!

What does creativity mean to you?

Freedom! It’s a time for me to block out the noise of daily life and focus on making and creating. I really love spending time in my studio and am lucky that it’s right in my backyard, so it’s easy to sneak out there when I’m feeling inspired.

What influences your work, is there a person or business you admire and look up?

I take a lot of inspiration from nature. I absolutely love following florists on social media. My feed is often filled with flowers and I adore the natural colours and arrangements.

What is bringing you joy at the moment and what are you currently working on?

I am always planning new products and also daydreaming about what’s next! I have a new collab that will be launching soon and can’t wait to share more details.

Sing out to a fellow maker and tell us what it is about their work that speaks to you?

It’s hard to pick just one! I love what fellow South Australians ‘Kitty Came Home‘ are doing. They are just so clever and always have something new and exciting on the go. I would love to visit their studio one day!
