DJ Tanzer
Drop-dead devastating diva Tanzer is a dark and shimmering DJ force, injecting romance and glamour into crossover dancefloors in Australia and beyond. Celebrated for her diversity and originality behind the decks, Tanzer’s flair for plucking irresistible jams, seamlessly switching up genres and getting the party started has seen her driving dancefloors wild on a weekly basis.

Her deliciously broad music knowledge comes from a life ruled by music. She’s fronted punk bands, twerked in an electro-pop duo, turned a girl gang into a ‘bad bitch choir’ and produced her own precocious pop jams since moving to the big smoke with an armful of records. Now a full-time performer, composer and diva in her own right – an ecstatic night of music is just second nature.

Tanzer’s cheekily curated sets have set fire to sexy Sydney party destinations The Beresford Hotel, Girlthing, Birdcage, Heaps Gay, Newtown Hotel, and the Imperial Hotel, as well as Melbourne’s legendary party nights Thursgay, Honcho Disko and Closet, and the festival hotness of Secret Garden, Falls Festival, Sydney Mardi Gras, Melbourne Fringe Festival, GrrlFest and Midsumma.

Loni Rae
A seasoned performer and songwriter who has called both Melbourne and Berlin home in recent years, Loni Rae Thomson delivers heartfelt and emotion-packed songs that are the perfect vehicle for her stunning voice. Thomson’s musicality, and has the type of nuance, vulnerability and power behind it that fans of Feist and Sharon Van Etten will recognise and love. Her first single ‘On Your own’ was released in September this year and is the lead single for her new EP Slowly. Thomson’s songs are marked with honesty and delivered with the heart and assurance of someone who has lived them and invites you along for the ride.

Ruby Gill
After decades spent silencing the South African forests in which she was raised, Ruby Gill hummingbirded over the Indian Ocean to hum about violence, joy, privilege and border security to a tolerant Melbourne population. Almost immediately, her piercing lyrics, grumpy guitar, classically-trained piano-hands and disproportionately massive voice left audiences across the country shaken, transfixed and sometimes a bit hungry.

She is currently in studio making sounds out of thoughts, and her single “Your Mum” frames the start of some exceptionally large potholes she’s leaving in both the industry and the kitchen. Outside the studio, her sometimes scary and always silencing stage presence has appeared on line-ups, festivals and credits with Ben Ottewell (Gomez), Keegan Joyce, Jeremy Loops, Shortstraw, Shawn Phillips, Cat Power, Xavier Rudd, Josh Kempen and many more.

Triple J say they’re “stoked on this.” which is real nice of them. they don’t say much.

The FCB (Felicity Cripps Band) soon released an LP in 2017. A second record is currently underway.

Cripps regularly performs with a band and also plays as a solo artist. More than a singer/songwriter, as performer she harbours an other-worldliness and embodies the spirit of her songs – her voice a force of strength and character.

Merpire

After releasing her debut EP, ‘Endless Chatter’ in June 2018, produced by Andy Bull and Alex Bennison, It wasn’t long before notice was being taken of Merpire and her intelligent songwriting. Genres overlap from the powerful, pitch-bending synth opener, ‘Holding Breath’, produced by Andy Bull to the stripped-back, heart-breaking closer, ‘For The Best’, produced by Alex Bennison.

The sophisticated record is backed-up beautifully with her band’s captivating live performance, piquing the interests of industry professionals and respected musicians.

After selling out Melbourne’s The Gasometer’s upstairs band room in August, the EP Launch was quickly moved to the main room to meet the overwhelming demand for a spot in the crowd. Described as refreshing and clever, the rollercoaster of emotion that is Merpire’s music is proving to be addictive with showcases at Brisbane’s Big Sound and there’s no sign of it slowing down.

FEELDS
There is something intriguing around the idea of the unknown. Whether this comes to Feelds as a thirst for exploration or a relentless drive for self-discovery, onward seems to be the only direction.
Feelds, the Melbourne-based project of James Seymour, has quickly grown into a fully-fledged outfit, defined by clever songwriting used to provoke a dynamic soundscape of honest storytelling. Traction gained from his independently-released EP, ‘Hunch’, in 2018 allowed Feelds to tour across the country in support of the likes of Gretta Ray, Didirri, Hayden Calnin, Fan Girl & BATTS.
