Thread was created this year by sister designers Sarah Gobran and Lauren Pollock. Growing up in a Country Town with a mother who made most of their clothes and a Nana who could practically crochet and sew in her sleep has definitely influenced their label. Being drawn to elements of nostalgia, beautiful/vintage inspired prints and gorgeous fabrics, is how the design process begins for thread.
Their first collection, ‘Through The Looking Glass, Spring/Summer 2010’ offers lovely selection of pieces including The Tea Party Maxi, Alice Dress, Wonderland Cape, ‘Drink Me’ Cami and The Curiouser High Shorts. Thread also provides a range of fabric belts, purses, and printed singlets. Many made from off-cuts or vintage fabrics. Thread’s focus is to produce beautiful, quality clothing that can add a touch of whimsy to anyone’s wardrobe!
