Shannon Garson
My aim is to explore ceramics and life through the synthesis of surface decoration and form. Using everyday objects such as cups and bowls to express my personal stories transforms these humble objects into works of art. All my vessels begin life as a lump of clay, they are thrown on a wheel and decorated with underglazes, oxides and glazes. They are made from porcelain, a fine clay body characterised by its pure white colour and translucency when held up to the light.
