My story as a tyre will make you think twice. Before I was a placemat I had a different life. But the journey of a tyre is one that ends in strife. I could have become landfill which is not nice. Now ruba to the rescue I have another life.
Ruba Design was born when interior designer, Sonia Attard and award-winning designer, Lisa Vincitorio explored ways to use recycled tyre matting. The material is extremely durable and is created out of car and truck tyres as well as left overs from manufacturing of shoe soles. The exciting new collection includes placemats, coasters, mousepads and a deskset and Ruba Design is also looking to expand the range later in the year. With a strong environmental focus, all the designs are made from the recycled tyre material and they won’t bend out of shape, are warm and inviting to touch, waterproof, heat resistant, dishwasher safe, non-slip and you can have any colour as long as it’s black!
