Kuberstore's woodsy-esque homewares are handmade in Brisbane solely by Emily Engel, who lives among towering gum trees at The Gap with her bloke, a cat and a small flock of bantam hens. She is very keen on working with cast plaster, even though it's dusty and messy: "I love that it undergoes a chemical reaction that makes it go warm when it’s curing. It’s as though it’s coming to life. I like the whiteness of it, and how strong it is even if it doesn’t always appear so.” Alongside her signature plaster seedpod wall hangings and gumnut stick bunches, for the Brisbane Autumn/Winter FK market Emily is preparing a number of special one-off items and some extra-special new cast plaster painted bead necklaces. See you there!
