Circle of Designers – a circle of like-minded designers designing art-based fashion with design at its core/textiles at its core. An overview: Circle of Designers is a fashion label that endeavours to deliver products of the highest standard, and that are unique in design. We are Australian-owned, developed and created; with product ethically and sensitively produced in the human and natural perspective.
The designers involved have chosen the medium of textiles in their practice. We hope to achieve a beautiful range of original textile design styles. Our aim is to group together and create a dynamic artistic environment for designers to bring eco friendly fashion products into the marketplace by respecting how things are made in the supply chain. We stand for the marriage of art, design and sustainability. So far all participants in ‘Circle of Designers’ (and we are an evolving circle) - are from different creative backgrounds; which makes our circle dynamic in style and cross-pollination – from textile design for fashion houses, an award-winning student; to a commercial gallery curator.
We met through art and textile exhibitions; and where we source our hemp and organic base cloths. Some of our designers include; PipWilly, Sophie Seeger, Karen Brock, Kasia Jaquot and Anjum Olmo. Each designer brings a different overall look and feel to the fabric which creates a wonderful variety and arty signature to our clothes. We have created a growing collaborative atmosphere of new ideas and professionalism; where we contribute designs and help each other in business. The further diversity is cultural – from Australian, Indian, to South African.
