Melbourne, what a ripper of a weekend!
Our SS25 Melbourne Design Market was an unforgettable weekend celebrating creativity, connection, and all things mindfully made. From 10–12 October, the Royal Exhibition Building (Narrm) was alive with the energy of over 260 designers and makers – an incredible community of stallholders, musicians, families, foodies, and curious treasure hunters all gathered under one beautifully ornate roof.
The Lineup Brought the Magic
As always, our lineup was stacked with creativity – from slow fashion and bold jewellery to small-batch ceramics and art prints. We were blown away by your support for local makers and your enthusiasm for shopping small.
A huge shoutout to our incredible community of designers who brought colour, conversation, and craftsmanship to every corner of the space. The Royal Exhibition Building truly came alive thanks to you.
The Museum of Modern Craft (MoMC*)
A definite highlight of the weekend, the Museum of Modern Craft (MoMC)* – curated by the brilliant Dale Hardiman of Dowel Jones and proudly supported by Craft – was a three-day-only celebration of vessels and vases.
This special showcase shone a light on the beauty of the handmade, honouring objects that feel both everyday and extraordinary. It was a love letter to the pieces that hold our flowers, our food, and sometimes even our memories – the humble vessels that quietly make a house feel like home, and Melbourne, you were in love!
The Design Files – Our First-Ever Collaboration
For the very first time, we teamed up with The Design Files, and what a perfect pairing it was! Their charming stand looked right at home amongst both our makers and the Royal Exhibition Building.
Just like The Finders Keepers, The Design Files has always celebrated the way we live – from the homes and gardens that ground us to the art, design, and food that fill our lives with meaning. Their presence was perfectly aligned with our seasonal theme of Home – a reminder that creativity and community are what make spaces, and moments, truly special. Did you pick up their latest magazine issue when you visited?
Fresh Faces, Fresh Creativity
This season, we welcomed a brilliant bunch of new makers (50!) into The Finders Keepers family – and watching you discover their work was pure magic. From stop-you-in-your-tracks ceramics to one-of-a-kind jewellery and playful fashion, these newcomers brought so much heart (and talent!) to the market.
To our newest stallholders: you brought the passion, the personality, and the products – and Melbourne noticed (big time!). We’re so thrilled to have you as part of our creative community.
Live Tunes & Disco Moves
Because what’s a market without music?
Our Friday DJ’s kicked things off with groove and good vibes, setting the tone for the weekend. Saturday and Sunday brought mellow magic with local artists and bands soundtracking your strolls (and your spontaneous dance breaks).
A huge thank you to every musician who brought rhythm, soul, and sparkle to the market.
