Best Snacks for Market Weekends

Market weekends are exciting, but let’s face it: those long days at your stall need more than just good vibes. You need serious fuel to power through! We asked our stallholders what tasty treats keep them powered up and ready to roll, from bump in, to bump out and all the hours in between.

Happy Day People

Fruit & Veg:

Nothing beats a good banana or, really, any non-messy fruit or veg. Portable, crumb-free, and packed with energy, they are basically nature’s snack bar. Other favourites include apples, mandarines or carrots (with a side of dip).

Crackers & Dip:

Crackers and dip are the dynamic duo for stallholders living their best gourmet lives. Just remember: sturdy crackers are your best friend to avoid dip disasters.

Party Mix Lollies:

Sugar? Yes, please! Party mix lollies are the cheeky little treat to sneak between sales. They’re fun and nostalgic and give you just the right pick-me-up when energy starts to dip. Plus, you can share them with your neighbours.

BBQ Shapes:

There’s no denying the legendary status of BBQ Shapes. Crunchy, flavour-packed, and shareable (if you’re feeling generous). They’re the market snack we never knew we couldn’t live without. Not a fan of BBQ? Any box of savoury biccies will do!

Snack Bars:

When you’re running between customer chats, snack bars save the day. Our favourites are muesli bars or protein bars because they keep you fuller for longer. Just make sure you pop an extra couple into your market toolkit when you’ve eaten all your other snacks and need a pick-me-up during bump out.

Popcorn:

Popcorn is a perfect snack to munch on all day, it’s light, crunchy, and available in lots of yummy flavours. Just try not to spill it everywhere (we’ve been there).

Chocolate:

And finally, chocolate. Because after a full market day, you’ve earned it. No further explanation needed.

We’re all for BYO snacks on market weekends, but if you forget your stash or feel like mixing it up, we encourage you to support your fellow foodie stallholders. Treat yourself to their delicious offerings, spark meaningful conversations, and turn snack time into a win-win moment. You’ll be fuelling your day and making new market connections.
