Halcyon Nights brings to life the imaginations of Kym, Reuben and their two little girls.  Working with Australian artists to create unique patterns and prints, Kym transforms the artwork into gorgeous bedding for your little ones.  You might also recognise the artists featured from previous Finders Keepers markets!  Read on to discover more, and catch Halcyon Nights at our Sydney market.

Tell us a little about yourself and how you came to begin your label.
I have a background in fashion retail and product development.  After having kids, I had so many ideas for kids bedding bouncing around in my mind.  And I just hopped to it!  I get so much joy out of it. W e are a very creative bunch at home so hours spent drawing the funny and fantastical around the kitchen table is where it began.

What would be one piece of advice you would give a first time seller at The Finders Keepers?
Think about how customers will “shop” at your stall. To maximise sales you need to be able to communicate quickly and clearly what your product is about.  Clear pricing and good signage is a must.  There are so many shoppers at the market it can be overwhelming for customers, so if they can find the information they need quickly it can really help.

Tell us something exciting that you have planned for Halcyon Nights this year?
We are developing an amazing Outback Dreamers print with Min Pin design and a little apparel collection to match.  The print is the most beautiful thing with little hand drawn Australian motifs.

Name one resource that your label could not live without.
I would have to say social media.  Specifically Instagram and Pinterest.  Both are a constant source of inspiration for design and marketing.  Being able to follow all your favourite artists and designers and see what is happening every day has been a fabulous resource.

Tell us about your favourite product from your collection.
I would say I love them all but specifically I love the Young Explorer print by Min pin.  Penny developed this illustration for us specifically and I love it to bits.  It encompasses everything Halcyon Nights should be ~ funny, imaginative and fantastical!
