It’s one thing to create hand knitted pieces with wool from your local craft chain store. It’s another to go the extra mile and source quality, natural and ethically produced yarns. This attention to detail is just one of the things we love about Lizzy from Above the Canopy.
Not only are her hand knitted necklaces completely unique and totally gorgeous, the yarn has been hand spun and dyed by rural women from Uruguay using local Corriedale wool. The women are part of a non for profit organisation; Manos Del Uruguay, which aims to empower the women by providing social and economic opportunities.
If you’re totally lusting after these cosy necklaces like we are, the get your hands on one at our Sydney market in April. Lizzy from Above the Canopy will be bringing her full collection of creations to her debut stall, and we can’t wait to experience the tactile nature of these products in person. Of course, you can shop online here too.
