What is The Finders Keepers?

We are primarily an independent design and art market in Sydney, that supports new and emerging independent design.

Our new websites aims is to be a source for the art and design community and the supporters of our events and designers.

The new website plans to evolve into valuable source of inspiration and information. Originally we were called the Hope Street Markets, the Finders Keepers change of name was based mostly on our decision to work in association with CarriageWorks. Our original start was at the Hope Street building at Surry Hills with only 20 stalls, we have now grown to support over 60 stalls.

The CarriageWorks is the new home of the markets in Sydney and we also plan to expand our markets into other areas of Australia, and being that Hope Street was a Sydney based charity we wanted to keep our relevance to our growing networks. Due to the overwhelming growth and response of the original markets in its first year, we have successfully built a strong following in which we hope to grow and foster under the new name.

The Finders Keepers aim is to provide new innovative product, through our news, networks and market events. The Finders Keepers also aim to connect with others through resources and projects.

The Finders Keepers is a non-profit organisation that gives back to its supporters by putting every cent that our designers pay in stall fees, back into our events. We are community minded and aim to help those less fortunate by us.

Over the past year we have donated over $8,000 to Hope Street via raffles at our market events and will continue to donate to other causes via our markets.

What does the name Finders Keepers mean?

The name was based on the simple joy of discovery which is portrayed in the word 'finding and keeping'.

We aim to encourage and inspire others by what we do.
